Parker Country Women’s and Newcomer’s Club was founded in 1975 to welcome newcomers to Weatherford and to promote social and service projects for all Parker county women.
In 1998 the Club discussed what service project they could support with their minor means of a few hundred dollars. One member suggested a scholarship fund. This small suggestion sparked a dream that involved helping nontraditional students such as mothers or women returning to school.
That vision is now the reality of our endowed Weatherford College Scholarship program and our vision continues to expand. Applicants must apply through WC.
In 1999, we awarded our first $1,000 scholarship. Our scholarships cover tuition, books, fees, and supplies to women who could otherwise only dream of expanding their education.
Our endowed scholarship program is supported totally through a variety of activities. Some of those activities are our Club Shop, annual Silent Auction, and Scholarship luncheon. We ask you to help us continue to provide dreams for our future scholarship recipients.
